Audi A7 Sportback set for a July 26, 2010 launch

by Alex

The new A7 sportback from Audi was launched at the Dutch Teaser site and then just a week after, they announced the official launch of the car would take place on July 26 2010. The occasion for the display would be a special one and the venue would be the “Pinakothek der Moderne München” which is a modern art meuseum situated in the heart of Munich, Germany.

The maker of the car based in Inglostadt gave out no other details about the A7 nor the event at which the car would be released. The name of the car though has been established and it’s to be the new A7 Sportback. That it would be mechanically similar to the next A6 and is to be a production version of the 2009 Sportback concept has also been established.

It would be a rival for sure to the Mercedes-Benz CLS and specially so due to its five-door fastback and the rakish roofline styling. It would fall in the class that is between an A6 and an A8 of the Audi range just like the A5 Sportback being placed above an A4 and below an A6.

Both the 2011 Mercedes Benz CLs and the A7 sportback would make their appearance at the Paris Motor Show scheduled end of September.
