Only a bit earlier this week, someone happened to come across a very exclusive example of the Ferrari 550 Maranello Le Mans GTS edition. Fortunately enough for us, the person had made sure to capture images and even video of that one-off Italian prancing horse seen in the Netherlands so that we can all see the car for ourselves now.
As it turns out, the Italian car in question comes with a right hand drive steering system. In order to make it possible for owner of the car to use it on public roads, he has had his car converted by a tuning house known as the ProDrive. As a result, this becomes the only example of such a vehicle model that people can ever see wandering around the streets. To make it even more interesting, it seems safe to say that the car has no worthy contender when it comes to weight. In total, the body of this Ferrari in particular weighs in at no more than 1,100 kg.
Since it is originally a Le Mans GTS edition, the Ferrari 550 Maranello we are talking about here is undoubtedly blessed with a very high performance. Its power is generated by a 6.0L V12 engine that delivers a total power output and torque of 600 bhp and 600 Nm, respectively. With the help of Ferrari’s 6-speed sequential Xtrac transmission, the engine sends power to the rear wheels of the vehicle.
Besides having a high performance, the car is pretty comfortable to ride as well. This is possible thanks to the double wishbone suspensions both on the front and rear ends of the car. Last but not least, the car also has its body panels made of carbon fiber. It is this particular material that helps keep the total weight of the car considerably low.
