The Spirit of Ecstasy, the famous flying lady mascot that has adorned the front of every Rolls Royce and has seen the luxury marque scale lofty heights of success is now a century old. So its celebration time at the Rolls Royce with a special Ghost and Phantom models being in the works now at Goodwood in honor of the Spirit of Ecstasy which would now be engraved with the inscription “Spirit of Ecstasy Centenary – 2011.” The exclusive engraving that would find place below the mascot will be written in a special font named ITC Willow. This apart, Rolls Royce is also drawing up some exciting events that would be held through out the year as part of the celebrations.
The exclusive British car maker has also line up an exciting road show to commemorate the day the Spirit of Ecstasy design – a Charles Skyes creation was first registered, which is on the 6th of February. So there will be a 100 Rolls Royces that will make its way through Central London. Speaking of the event and of the Spirit of Ecstasy mascot, the CEO of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Mr. Torsten Müller-Ötvös says it is “perhaps the most famous automotive icon,” that has adorned all the models that has come out of the luxury car maker in the past right up to this day.
The CEO takes pride in saying that the mascot has inspired the founders of the company as well as the individuals owning the car along with the new enthusiast of the present generation. He also added that this design has also inspired many people who worked in the company, a company which develops the world’s most unique models of the cars.
