Cadillac ATS sports sedan has been named as the car of the year of North America at 2013 Detroit Auto Show and Chrysler Ram 1500 pickup crowned as truck of the year. The two vehicles were chosen as the best by panel of 49 automotive journalists from six finalists including Honda Accord and Ford Fusion.
In the runners-up the automotive journalists named Ford C-Max and Mazda CX-5 in the two SUV and truck category.
On the occasion of this great honor the vice president of GM recalled it meaningful as ATS is the result of dedicated and talented engineers, designers and entire Cadillac team.
ATS was first unveiled at last year’s auto show in Detroit and was considered to be in competition to the famous 3-series lineup of BMW.
On the other hand, Chrysler executives Fred Diaz said the honor is one of the proudest one for them in their history. He added that it is just one award and they need to work more hard to keep its vehicles competitive and not to rest on laurels saying its time to relax.
