Ferrari 599 GTO, first presented to a privileged group of Ferrari clients at Maranello and then officially presented to the public at Beijing’s motor show at the end of April, and dedicated to only 599 GTO fans, will become the fastest model Ferrari has ever produced outside the racing. In fact, the engine for this car derives directly from its racing prototype parent, 599XX, with all the changes necessary to adapt it to the roads and to match Euro 5 and Lev 2 ecological standards. This car has a Formula -1 6 sequences gearbox and the potential of 670 CV at 8250 rpm, a racing-type intake system and reaches more than 335 km/h, with acceleration time 0-100 of 3, 35”.
As usually, Ferrari incorporated in this model a plenty of innovations for a road car, such as more efficient carbon-ceramic brakes that permits to stop a car from 100 km/h in 32,5 m, new aerodynamic solutions that improves the performance and a new driver-car interface that permits to the driver to have the most updated information with minimal distractions. From the other side, 599 GTO uses a lot of Formula -1 research, such as weight reduction through the use of racing composites and technologies, track-traction control and aerodynamics of the last F-1 generation. Together with a completely new chassis development and magnet-orheological suspension control system of the second generation and, such a mix permitted to obtain an aggressive sport car responsive to its driver’s requests and very stable in turns and braking, sharper, more precise and quicker, with stylish details and engine roar that recalls 599XX racing prototype. Finally, Michelin developed for these car special super sport tires that thanks to wider front tires guarantee a better road holding. The cars produced will be only 599, and the price begins from Euro 320.000.
