A Chinese man in Australia had to pay an auto dealer $10,000 last week and he didn’t even get a new car for doing so.
A couple have been left with a bill after their 3 years old daughter scratched pictures into the paintwork of 10 brand-new Audi cars in one go while making a visit to a posh car dealership.
The shocked parents later found that their daughter had taken a stone and drawn into the paint of 10 new cars, which also included an Audi Q8 valued at almost $5,850 during the visit on 24 November.
The Chinese couple had accompanied a friend to the auto dealership – bringing their three-year-old daughter along for the ride.
According to Lingui People’s Court, the dealership took legal action against the father – known as Mr Zhao – for an initial sum of 200,000 RMB ($28,540), stating the figure was an estimate and could boost based on further evaluation of the damage done.
The company argued that the automobiles could not be sold as new cars once they had repainted those.
This incident took place in Guilin in November when the three-year-old girl slipped away and got into a little bit of mischief.
She reportedly found a rock and then used it to scratch ten of the luxury cars parked in the store. One of the cars was worth more than $80,000. It stopped after someone noticed what she was doing.
The court stated on December 3 that Zhao had rejected the 200,000 RMB ($28,000) demand but settled the issue at 70,000 RMB ($10,000).
