Ferrari working on a hardcore 599 GTO

by Alex

We have already learned that Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano isn’t due for a replacement before 2015. We will very likely see many different limited editions, before the new car is finally introduced.

Now details have leaked out about a very special version called 599 GTO Limited Edition.

Ferrari has not used the GTO badge for a long time, so as with all historic GTO models this one is going to be quite special.

Based on the regular 599 GTB, it will borrow design elements and technologies from the track only 599XX. Rumor is that it will be about 150 kg (330 lbs) lighter compared to the regular 599 GTB. Power will come from a 6.0-liter V12 that produces around 700 horsepower.

World debut is already expected to take place in March at the Geneva Motor Show. Production will be limited to 500 cars with prices set at around $400,000.

The modena and f430 have always been the most fun cars to drive in the ferrari range, now the 599 has something to offer the select few. this car seems like a bare bones monster which will be a ear pounding behemoth. looks and sounds like a amazing track car and seems like a bad daily car. i got a feeling this model will share alot of common stuff with the upcoming F70. the next enzo. looks amazing and very fast.
