The automaker with the three-pointed star logo has seemingly been working on a new C-Class model, this time a coupe variant. The car has made it into spy images just recently and it wears a very minimum amount of camouflage. The car was busted while testing, ahead of its planned official introduction that should take place at the 66th annual Frankfurt Motor Show in September this year.
Well, as bad as the angles of the spy images are, it is still possible to see a majority of the upcoming German coupe. Taking a look at the shape of the vehicle, it is not hard to tell that the car will be coming with a pretty sloping roofline. This gives the car a rather sexy look. This reminds us of what Gorden Wagener had said before. According to the chief of design at Mercedes-Benz, the new C-Class Coupe from the German marquee will indeed look sleeker and even far prettier when compared to the German brand’s mighty S-Class Coupe vehicle model. Wagener also adds that the new C-Class Coupe from Mercedes-Benz will even drive better than how it looks.
This new coupe from Mercedes-Benz will be coming with the MRA chassis that is also used on the sedan as well as the wagon variants of the model. Besides sharing similar chassis, it seems that the coupe will also be sharing a similar engine. The engine in use here will be a 4.0L V8 engine with twin turbochargers. This engine can very well deliver 476 HP of power output (for the base model) and 510 HP of power output for the range topping S trim of the model.
Wagener claims that this upcoming Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe will prove to be the coolest variant ever of all the models in the W205 generation of vehicles. Starting from next year, the company will be adding a new variant that comes with a retractable soft top.
