General Motors has recently disclosed its plans to withdraw Chevrolet from Europe by the end of the year 2015.
Well we have to say that GM has made a huge announcement by revealing their intentions to retire the Chevrolet brand from Europe within the next two years. The large automotive conglomerate says that they have taken this decision as Chevrolet could not manage to build market share on the old continent and equally responsible were the difficult economic situation in Europe.
After Chevrolet’s European exit, General Motors said that they will focus their attention on the Opel and Vauxhall duo as they have growing confidence in the Opel and Vauxhall brands in Europe. GM vice chairman clarified that Chevrolet’s retirement from Europe had nothing to do with the partnership between GM and PSA Peugeot Citroën as this decision has been taken independent of the PSA relationship.
All we can say is that Chevy has been one of the well known brands and though it may have not been that successful as expected, the end of the brand will be a big move by the company in coming time.
