by SpeedLux

Last week it was reported that the Honda CR-Z shall be discontinued. Now recently, Honda has announced that the CR-Z’s production is going to be ceased in the US. The car is set to be discontinued by the end of this year, Honda states that it is filling in the gap left behind with new electrical models such as the 2017 Accord Hybrid and the new Clarity.

Statistics of sales are not that impressive either. The model was launched in May 2011, that year Honda manufactured 1,557 CR-Zs, although in May 2016, the number was only 234 CR-Zs.

On other hand, the Honda’s Acura NSX have made hybridization attractive again.
