Honda Motor stated on Friday that it would push back plans to restart operations at its vehicle plant located in Wuhan, the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak in China, after government officials asked companies to keep employees away through March 11.

In a statement, the Japanese automaker stated that it prepared to restart operations at the plant on March 11, and would restart production sometime during that week.

Some operations at other plants in China had restarted this week, Honda stated.

Coronavirus has so far infected thousands and killed over 2,200 people in China.
