Honda Motor said on Thursday it will restart North American production on April 5 at its automobile, engine and transmission plants in the region after production cuts affected all of its U.S., Mexican and Canadian auto plants.
The Japanese automaker’s production cuts started on March 22 due to COVID-19 crisis, congestion at various ports, the microchip shortage, and severe winter weather.
The automaker cited “impact from COVID-19, congestion at various ports, the microchip shortage and severe winter weather” for the production cuts.
