It is yet contemplation that surrounds the show or appearance of the Infiniti model at the 2010 Mondial de lautomobile event. There is however confirmed news that an Infiniti concept would be on display at the event. The concept is named Infiniti Performance Line (IPL) G Cabrio and would be the second car to be wearing the sporty IPL badge of the Japanese firm. The G Coupe which has hit the market in North America earlier this summer was the first to wear that badge.
The concept and the final production version of the IPL would sure have a close link to the style and performance statistics of the Coupe.
For engine the IPL would have a 3.7 liter V6 that would be modified and delivering 338 PS at 7,400 rpm, it would also be delivering 374 Nm of torque. This is a modification to raise the performance from the standard engine which delivers 320 PS at 7,400 rpm and 360 Nm of torque. The IPL G coupe cars in US fitted with V6 engines gets 348 hp.
The acceleration power of the car would be 0 to 100 kmph or 62 mph in less than 6 seconds and the top speed of the concept car is 270 kmph or 168 mph. the concept car has a seven speed automatic transmission system and is de-restricted in top speed as also being fitted with magnesium paddle shifts.
Suspension of the concept model has been upgraded with springs which are about 10 percent stiffer than the standard fit as well the dampers been recalibrated. The concept has also been lowered in height. For looks the car has a pearlescent black paint with red hints as its body color. The paint scheme has been named as “Malbec Black”. The interior of the car has been made up in Monaco Red leather.
The front bumpers also bear a new look as also the blacked-out grille and headlight surrounds, sculptured side sill extensions. The car also has a new look boot lid spoiler. The exhaust pipes are large with 19 inch 7 spoke rims for wheels.
The dashboard area has been done up with black lacquer and the trim applied to the glove box and doors is named KACCHU. Incidentally this name has been taken from the armor that was used by feudal warlords in Japan who lived in the middle ages.
Infiniti people themselves have stated the following about the launch of the car in the European market “”A decision on launching IPL Infinitis in Europe will be taken later after reaction to the IPL G Cabrio Concept has been considered.” The car can therefore be expected sooner in the US or A.
