Infiniti is going to pull the ropes of a special Infiniti FX50 Vettel Edition luxury SUV at the upcoming 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show next month. It would be nice, but it’s just a rumor for the moment. If it so, this car, supposedly backed by Sebastian Vettel, may eventually go into production.
In addition comes a few rumours, which suggest that Vettel will be putting his name on a special edition Infiniti, with speculation pointing towards the Infiniti FX50 SUV as the vehicle of choice.
Why FX50? Well, one of the reasons rumours say it will be an FX50 is because Sebastian Vettel just so happens to drive a white Infiniti FX50 as his personal company car.
Below you can see a video which has been released onto YouTube showing Vettel talking with Infiniti senior vice president, Shiro Nakamura, about designs for an upcoming model. We hear them discuss a gray matte color that could be used on the new car, before Nakamura says to Vettel “you drive it in white.”
Considering that Infiniti has announced that it is planning something special for the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show, a Vettel Edition of an Infiniti model is almost certain to be unveiled at the Frankfurt show.
Expect the new car to showcase special trim revisions, carbon fibre details inside and out, as well as a race-like steering wheel with more controls and buttons.
Of course, at first the special model will apparently be pitched as a concept, and if the public’s reaction is good, Infiniti may put it into production.
Anyway, we’ll see it at the right time. Until then you can take a look at the video below and tell us what you think.
