Jaguar is putting out a challenge to the students at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena and Academy of Art University in San Francisco to come up with the design for their future sports car in 2030. The students will have opportunities to design the 2 + 2 halo sports car with Ian Callum, the design chief for Jaguar. Students are allowed to get up close with some of the most powerful Jaguar sports car models such as C-Type, D-Type and E-Type to obtain perspective on designing the car.
Stewart Reed, the chairman of the Transportation Design Department of the college states that the goal of the project will be to design a beautiful and passionate sports car because Jaguar’s motto is about passion and responsibility. Brad Keppel encourage his students to come up with a likeable design of the next generation Jaguar sports car. The final designs may vary across the students but they are to carry the Jaguar heritage design as demanded by the sponsor. The looks of the 2030 Jaguar is very important. The interior design must be consistent with the exterior design of the car.
The winner of the car design submission entry will get scholarship money, internship or a job.
