The luxury automaker from the Great Britain, Jaguar, has officially announced that the 2015 XE model is going to make it into production imminently. According to the company, the car will be built in the company’s plant in Solihull, UK. This will be the first ever Jaguar model to be built in that particular plant.
With that being said, it is quite a clear indication that the company is making a comeback to the entry level vehicle segment. The car may as well take the competition to the likes of Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi and other German rivals. For that purpose, the British marquee has already equipped the vehicle with a chassis that makes an intensive use of the aluminum material and, of course, visual styling cues that are typical of the luxury British marquee.
For the sake of performance, customers can choose from a number of engine options. For starter, they can go for a 2.0L 4-cylinder Ingenium diesel engine. The next engine option available is a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo engine with 200 PS and 280 Nm of power and torque. For an alternative, there is a tweaked version with 240 PS and 340 Nm of power and torque. As for the ultimate option, buyers can choose a 3.0L V6 supercharged engine which delivers 340 PS and 450 Nm of power and torque.
According to Alan Volkaerts, the person in charge of directing the operation at Jaguar’s Solihull plant, the 2015 Jaguar XE marks a milestone in the British company’s Solihull plant. In addition to that, it also showcases just how flexible Jaguar’s manufacturing operation is with the help of strategic infrastructure and aluminum investment.
