Maruti Suzuki to recall 75,419 Baleno cars to update airbag

Nation’s biggest automobile maker Maruti Suzuki India is going to recall 75,419 units of Baleno cars (fuel and diesel) manufactured between August 3, 2015 and May 17, 2016 to update the airbag controller software and 1,961 DZire Diesel cars (only AGS version) to replace malfunctioning fuel filters.

“Maruti Suzuki India will willingly recall 75,419 Baleno automobiles (fuel and diesel), made in between August 3, 2015 and May 17, 2016 to update the airbag controller software application. Of these, 15,995 Baleno cars (only diesel), produced in between August 3, 2015 and March 22, 2016, will also be attended to for inspection and replacement of a faulty fuel filter,” Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) stated in a filing. Furthermore, the automaker stated it has actually chosen to inspect and replace malfunctioning fuel filters of 1,961 DZire Diesel cars (just AGS variant).

Previously this year, Maruti Suzuki had actually remembered 3,796 units of mid-sized sedan Ciaz, manufactured till November 7, to replace a malfunctioning part of clutch operation system.

Maruti Suzuki will begin recalling cars from 31 May, 2016. The Baleno cars covered in the recall consist of 17,231 units of exports.
