Volkswagen To Introduce Upgraded 1.5-litre TDI Engine In October

by SpeedLux

Volkswagen is probably going to introduce its 1.5-litre TDI engine with some tweaks by October this year. The upgraded powerhouse will first find area in the Vento before making its method to the Polo, the Skoda Rapid, and the upcoming Ameo.

As reported before, the tweaks will somewhat enhance the power figures of the engine. While the current 1.5-litre diesel has the ability to generate 104PS in the Vento, the updated mill will take the figure to 109PS. Torque figures are anticipated to remain unchanged, though is it highly probable that there will be a boost in fuel performance. Andreas Lauermann, of Volkswagen India, present at the rollout of the first Ameo from the production line, did not give certain information about the same.

Updated mill is most likely to adhere to Bharat Stage (BS)-IV standards even when there is a clamor in the nation to shift to BS-VI standards. BS emission standards are the Indian equivalent of Euro emission standards and level three (say) of both the standards have equivalent standards.
