McLaren MP4 12C – prices for UK revealed

by Alex

McLaren has announced that the Goodwood Festival would be the venue for the public debut of its MP4 12C sports car. July is the month when the event would be held while sale of the car would commence from next spring onwards. The sports car is estimated to be prices between £125,000 to £175,000.

Demand for the car has been high from the USA and UK where registration number has already reached 2500 and over. The company has planned to make only 1000 units in this year. There is therefore a marked imbalance between demand and supply with the UK and USA making up for the largest market share for this 12C. The company would be coming up with the full scale McLaren sports model cars only by the middle of the decade. That would be a high performance car with two seat and mid engine.

Other than the UK and USA the car would be launched in 19 other countries through 35 identified retailers. As per McLaren, the distribution of the number of cars they intend to make in 2011 for sale in North America would be around 300 to 400 while 400 to 500 would go to Europe along with another 100 to 200 units each of the sports car slated for the Middle East, South Africa and other Asia Pacific countries.
