Mercedes-Benz, one of the best automakers in the world, has already officially introduced its GLE Coupe model far before the car makes its market debut. As a result, the company can now do whatever it wants to do, it seems, including performing a diverse range of tests for the aforementioned vehicle lineup. Very recently, a YouTube user with the account called walkoART has happened to spot a completely undisguised GLE 450 AMG Coupe model.
Ironically enough, Mercedes-Benz is not equipping the car with the engine expected by most people out there. Instead, the German company has decided to fit in a 3.0L engine with twin turbochargers. This engine is capable of spitting out 367 hp of power output in total. This is better than the SQ5 TFSI engine from Audi. However, it is ironic considering that even the 2.0L engine in the Mercedes-Benz A45 is capable of outputting 360 hp in spite of having two fewer cylinders. So, contrary to most people’s expectation, the GLE 450 AMG Coupe is not coming with any V8 or supercharged 4-cylinder engines at all.
The vehicle spotted by the aforementioned YouTube user comes with the Polar White paint for its exterior. It is standard for this vehicle model from the German company. However, something just does not seem to add up about the exhaust. When Mercedes-Benz released official photos of the vehicle for the press some time ago, it could be seen from the images that the vehicle had four exhaust pipes. However, the one spotted by walkoART comes with just two exhaust pipes. Yet, the rear diffuser and the shape of the exhaust pipes remain the same as the ones on the press photos.
Taking everything into account, it seems that the version previewed by Mercedes-Benz on the press photos some time earlier refer to a more expensive variant. Or, another possibility is that a body kit from the AMG Sport may well be in the pipeline.
