After hitting the headlines for producing its 50,000th car in India, Mercedes-Benz is once again in news.
Now it is time again for India to become the producing ground for the S500 series of the car company.
Mercedes-Benz has 125 units in India and from each of these units the S500s have been sold like hot cakes. Problem is the low supply that’s keeping buyers hungry. This sale has taken place in addition to the Launch Edition car which will no doubt bring in revenue of Rs.1.58crore. So, one can imagine how high the sales figure for the S500s could have risen had the supply been adequate.
The Germans were already confident about being able to sell off more than 300 cars of the models mentioned above. To keep pace with the high demand for the cars, a new plan for production has been introduced by the makers of these world class luxury cars. The company has discarded the usual plan of importing the S500s. Instead, the company is making India its base for producing the most wanted S500s. Yes, the cars will be assembled in the Mercedes-Benz plant located in Chakan. This assembling will be taking besides the production of the S350 Blue Tec. The S350Blue Tec will be out for purchasers by June of 2014.
Another piece of news for buyers is that the S500s assembled to be in India will be a little cheaper.
Buyers will have to accept a car with slightly lower specifications. So this leaves the richest buyers of India with some money saved while they are able to own one of the best cars in the world. Mercedes-Benz remains one of the companies that always think out new ways of pleasing its buyers and to help them own some of the most coveted luxury cars in the world.
