The parent company of the luxury German automaker Mercedes-Benz, Daimler-Chrysler, has made a rather unsuspected official announcement. The company has now officially confirmed that its Mercedes-AMG division has taken over the possession of 25% share that belongs to a very popular Italian motorbike maker, the MV Agusta. This confirms some of the early rumors that point towards this deal between Mercedes and the MV Agusta. Nevertheless, one thing still remains a big question mark. Daimler has yet to disclose the total cash value involved in the transaction between the two companies and it seems the company is not planning to do so anytime soon. Yet, if earlier reports are to be believed, the transactional value may lie somewhere around the region of thirty million Euros.
According to Daimler, both MV Agusta and its Mercedes division will have a fruitful partnership in the long run. Their partnership is expected to include sales and marketing efforts. At the end of this month, November 2014, Mercedes-AMG will be appointing a member of the board of directors to be seated at the MV Agusta’s office. As pointed out by the CEO Mercedes-AMG GmbH, Tobias Moers, Mercedes seems to have discovered just the perfect partner to delve into the world of high performance two-wheeled vehicles.
On the other hand, CEO and President MV Agusta Motor S.p.A., Giovanni Castiglioni, states that Mercedes will also be assisting its company in its efforts to expand its wings to the rest of the world and to help it grow. He also points out that the uniqueness that the Italian motorbike manufacturer possesses will help thrust Mercedes even further into the leading role when it comes to the high performance world of automotive. Well, it seems that the partnership between the two parties is likely to go on well in the coming years.
