Nissan has made public its plans to invest more than €130 million into their production facility situated in Spain.
It is also learned the company may use the money in increasing the production of the Navara, build transmissions for the Leaf/ eNV200 as well as to produce a new passenger car which is likely to be the company’s Volkswagen Golf competitor. Revealing details about the new passenger car, Nissan confirmed the model will go into production in 2014 and have a estimated output of 80,000 units per annum.
Nissan refused to give additional information about the model, but it is expected to be a C-segment hatchback that gets inspiration from the Invitation concept.
It will probably come packed with technology and be offered with 1.2- and 1.5-liter engines.
Nissan‘s new concept would be a mass assembled one and would be prove to be a good competitor to the Volkswagen Golf. Nissan officials are confident that their hard work won’t go waste and the money invested would give them handsome returns.
