Porsche and Toyota are rarely mentioned in the same breath, but today both companies have announced production milestones.
Firstly, Porsche confirmed the production of 500,000th Cayenne at the assembly line in Leipzig, Germany. The model was a white Cayenne S Diesel which comes fitted with a twin-turbo 4.2-liter V8 engine that generates 382 HP (281 kW) and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the crossover to accelerate from 0-100 kmph (0-62 mph) in 5.7 seconds and hit a top speed of 261 kmph (162 mph).
On the other hand, Toyota is celebrating the production of their three millionth Prius. The company didn’t have much to say about the car but did mention that they have positioned hybrid technology as a core technology required for the development of various types of environment-friendly vehicles. They also said that they will continue to invest in environmental technology development as well as on strengthening new platform and major component development.
