Quanta has recently built an add-on hybrid kit based on the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (C6) which increases the output to 770 HP (566 kW).
Generally most automakers add hybrid tech mostly to increase the fuel efficiency, Quanta has tried something different by making the hybrid kit for the Z06 to boost the car’s performances. The Quanta Corvette QHP770 still continues to be powered by the familiar LS7 engine that generate 505 hp (377 kW) but now it works together with a couple of YASA 750 axial flux electric motors that are built into to the rear differential.
Each electric motor produces 134 hp (100 kW) and draws its power from a lithium-polymer battery pack which has a capacity of 11.3 kWh and can be recharged during driving with an option to recharge it externally. As a result of this hardware arrangement, the car now produces an impressive combined output of 770 hp (574 kW) and 2,034 Nm (1,500 lb-ft) of torque.
Gary Whiting who is the owner and chief engineer of the car estimates that the hybridized Z06 can sprint to 0-60 mph (0-96 kmph) in just 3.3 seconds and will be able to run the quarter mile in time of just 11.3 seconds.
