Report: McLaren open to a deeper partnership with Honda

by SpeedLux

Two of the giant car makers of the world, Honda and McLaren, are reportedly considering a broader partnership than their previously announced deal of Formula 1 engine supply.

As per the report, McLaren F1 boss Martin Whitmarsh said that the current deal was a pure Formula 1 contract but they were been looking at automotive technology and they are sharing that pretty openly. He went on to state that at the moment their road car strategy has no other automotive partner and Honda would be a good place to collaborate.

McLaren executive declined to get into specific details but if the rumors and speculations are to be believed, the companies could sign a bilateral technical arrangement which would benefit road-going models from both automakers.

While a broader partnership sounds quite exciting, Whitmarsh cautioned any benefits from the proposed tie-up would be take several years from now. Well whatever period it may take, the partnership would be great news for the car industry and also the car lovers across the world and we would be anticipating that to happen soon. We will keep you updated on the same and let us hope for the best for all.
