Due to a deal announced this morning between the brand’s owner Healey Sports Cars Switzerland and Britain’s very own CPP, a new Jensen Interceptor will be built in Coventry from 2014. This is the same CPP the Spyker supercar range is planning to build, being delayed by some paperwork that needs to be done. Spyker recently bought Bowler that has also confirmed a deal with the Zagato, signing a purchase agreement to redevelop car production facilities at Browns Lane in Coventry.
According to CPP, HSCS has employed a team of Coventry-based design consultants, that has already finished the design for the new Interceptor and gained sufficient customer interest.
The new car will be similar to it’s original built between 1966 and 1976, the four-seat GT, but it will be based on a handcrafted aluminium body, and new aluminium chassis.
The official unveiling of the Interceptor is planned at the final of 2012, and starting to be delivered to customers in 2014.
No information regarding the price has come out yet, but we will keep our eyes and years wide open for some new specs and details about not only the price, but as well the car itself.
“The Jensen design team has respected and honoured the great heritage and attributes of the original Interceptor, while injecting a contemporary edge and advanced technologies that will ensure it appeals to the passionate, discerning motoring enthusiast of today”, says CPP founder Brendan O’Toole.
