SRT Viper hits the drag strip

by SpeedLux

The team at Drag Times has put the SRT Viper through its paces at the Palm Beach International Raceway recently.

At the tests, the team was able to run the SRT Viper to a quarter mile in 11.1 seconds at 127.4 mph (205 kmph) by using launch control. Their data also showed that the car accelerated from 0-60 mph in just 3.1 seconds and 0-100 mph (0-161 kmph) in 7.1 seconds. The timings clocked by the car look pretty impressive.

The credit for such timing by the car can also be given to Mickey Thompson drag radial tires. However, Drag Times said that the tires were taller than the stock tires which infact made the model bog down after the initial launch.

The SRT Viper comes fitted with an 8.4-liter V10 engine that has the output capacity of 640 bhp (477 kW) and 600 lb-ft (814 Nm) of torque. The engine is connected to a six-speed manual transmission gearbox which enables the model to achieve the aforesaid numbers. The car can hit the top speed of 206 mph (331 kmph).

Truly the sped and the numbers look amazing and we must say that the car and the team, both have achieved a good performance and we must say well done to both!
