Tesla autonomous driving system could be launched in three years

by SpeedLux

Tesla Motors has recently revealed some new details about its autonomous driving plans for the future.

CEO of Tesla Motors Elon Musk recently stated in an interview that the company’s autonomous driving technology should be able to cover 90 percent of miles driven within three years. However the executive declined to give any detail about the specifics but did confirm that the technology is being developed internally.

If we recap, Tesla was in discussions with the internet giant Google about using their autonomous driving technology but that seems to have fallen apart as Musk was quoted saying that the problem with Google’s current approach was that the sensor system was too expensive.

Tesla’s autonomous driving technology certainly does not sound like the most advanced version in the industry currently, but Musk doesn’t seem to mind that as he told the paper in the same interview that a fully autonomous vehicle is a bridge too far. He further added that it was incredibly hard to get the last few percent which would enable a car to fully control itself.

We wish all the very best to Tesla Motors and hope that they came up with a good autonomous driving technology and which will reap good results for the company and car lovers as well.
