Tesla Motors is preparing to present a ride services program and will reveal information next year, the luxury electrical automobile maker informed on its website, a service initially laid out by CEO Elon Musk in his master plan in July.
News of the Tesla Network was in a disclaimer about the self-driving performance on brand-new Model S automobiles. Musk stated on Wednesday Tesla is building new cars with the essential hardware to ultimately allow complete autonomy, although the software application is not yet all set.
“Please note that using a self-driving Tesla for car sharing and ride hailing for friends and family is fine, but doing so for revenue purposes will only be permissible on the Tesla Network, details of which will be released next year,” as per the disclaimer.
Tesla did not right away react to a request for more information.
Automakers have hurried to buy so-called mobility services, wanting to catch the prospective trillions of dollars in income from selling both cars and such on-demand services, while carving out a stake in the market dominated by Uber.
