Good news for F1 fans because FIA announced the final 2012 F1 calendar.
However, it sees the Turkish Grand Prix losing its slot, but this isn’t a surprise considering that there have been concerns about the lack of interest and promotion in the event.
The Australian Grand Prix on March 18th is the first in the 2012 season being followed by the Malaysian race a week later. A three week gap before the Chinese Grand Prix and the Bahrain event a week later (earlier than had been planned) assumes the latter race will go ahead, it having been cancelled this season due to unrest in the country.
The Spanish Grand Prix on May 13th will be the first European race, followed by the Monaco race a fortnight later. Ater that, the teams head to Canada on the 10th of June. Back to Europe two weeks later for the main ‘home’ events of the season: Valencia, The British GP, Germany and Hungary follow in quick succession before the factories close down for the whole of August.
Later, on 2nd September, racing resumes at Spa with Monza for the Italian GP a week later before the teams head east. Singapore – 23rd September – is followed in a fortnight by the Japanese race with the Korean Grand Prix a week after that.
On 28th October we’ll see the Indian GP and on November 4th, the race at Abu Dhabi, with the US GP at Austin two weeks later and the season finale in Brazil on November 25th.
