Three people were killed after a car crash on the southbound Garden State Parkway in Aberdeen, Scotland on Sunday night.

Officials issued an update on Monday morning after reporting earlier that two people had died and one was seriously injured.

Two cars were involved in the crash that took place 7:20 p.m. in the local lanes near Exit 118 in Aberdeen.

Investigation showed a Nissan Sentra and Nissan Maxima were moving south in the local lanes.

The crash between the two vehicles sent the Sentra off the right side of the roadway. It hit a metal post, overturned and hit a tree.

The driver and two passengers in Sentra succumbed to injuries.

The driver of the Maxima had minor injuries.

The identities of the victims were not released pending notification to their families.
