The Japanese automaker, Toyota, has released no less than two official images which depict the facelifted version of the Avensis. The images depict both the wagon and sedan variants of the vehicle. It is believed that the model will actually make their official global debut when this year’s Geneva Motor Show event kicks off in March.
The Toyota Avensis was actually introduced to the public for the very first time ever back in the year 2009. The Japanese company introduced the vehicle model in question during the Paris Motor Show event. Then, three years after that, the model was treated with a facelift. Now, the vehicle has come to its 3rd generation model and is designed by the company’s France-based studio in terms of its visual styling. Yet, it is the company’s research and development facility in Belgium that is actually in charge of developing the vehicle.
At a glance, it may seem that minor cosmetic tweaks are all that the car has to offer. However, Toyota actually claims that this new Avensis facelift will feature improved efficiency, performance, comfort and safety. In addition to that, the interior and the chassis of the vehicle have also been upgraded. Some revisions are also visible on the rear end of the vehicle.
According to the Japanese automaker, this new Toyota Avensis facelift will be available until at least the fiscal year 2018. After that, there is a probability that the company will axe the model. For now, the facelifted Avensis model will be built at Toyota’s Burnaston plant in the UK. Sales of this particular vehicle model from the Japanese automaker will reportedly start in summer this year itself.
