Toyota has unveiled a brand new trip. This car looks more like a wooden toy than a completely functioning car.
The Toyota Setsuna is a concept car, crafted entirely of wood.
The two-seater is due for a main reveal at Milan Design Week next Tuesday, however with a simple 28 miles per hour capacity for speed, the car is created more so as a symbolic gesture rather than for using on the road.
The body of the automobile is created from 86 handmade wooden panels, each of them are joined together using conventional Japanese interlocking techniques called okuriari and kusabi.
This technique allows for panels to be fitted without nails, so that when it undergoes a routine maintenance check, single panels can be eliminated and changed without needing a complete overhaul.
