Just another day at work. Vath plays with the engine of the SLK 55 AMG of Mercedes-Benz to bump up its power to 565 horsepower and its torque to 770 Nm from the stock V8 5.5L that can deliver 360 HP and torque of 510Nm.
The increase in power was achieved by beefing up the displacement of the engine to 5.8L, installing a new compressor, exhaust system, and reconfiguring the ECU. This extra punch brings the top speed of the V58 SLK to 310km/hr or 193 mph.
Those who want the extra power will also feel an uppercut to their bank account. The engine upgrade alone will cost you €30,785 or roughly $42,045.
You can also get other Vath upgrades like their signature fuel cooler that costs €2,070 and a locking differential for around €5,224.
The list of upgrades goes on to have 19-inch alloy rims, lowering kit, high end brake system, Vath’s steering wheel, rear diffuser, front spoiler, and interior package. Do all the math and all of the upgrades will cost you a whopping €55,512 or about $75,815. That tag does not include the tires and rims yet.
If you buy your SLK 55 AMG at €70,745 then you will end up throwing out €126,257 or about $172,430 to have the car be prepped up by Vath.
