A woman is dealing with prison for driving her Mercedes into a plumber’s vehicle after a face-off on a slim bridge.
Caroline Hamer, 37, was condemned of a roadway rage attack when she declined to back down over the access over the river bridge with John Gooding.
Restroom fitter Mr Gooding, 33, called her a “stupid cow” in the stand-off at the narrow roadway which only one automobile might manage.
Hamer then drove her black sports model Mercedes at over 70mph before hitting into the back of the Mr Gooding’s silver Fiesta.
The court heard the 2 drivers remained in stand-off over the bridge road only broad enough for one vehicle to pass.
Hamer explained Mr Gooding driving as “disgraceful” and she was discouraged by him and “felt bullied when he took her automobile out”.
The court heard his partner and child, Jackson, 3, were surprised at being struck by the Mercedes at the crash in July on the A4042 in Cwmbran.
Miss Webb said to the court: “It was roadway rage, it wasn’t a mishap. It was hazardous driving and it was purposeful.”
The jury at Cardiff Crown Court delivered an unanimous guilty decision on the charge of harmful driving on July 26.
Hamer, of Pontypool, Gwent, was informed by Judge Jonathan Furness her sentencing would be adjourned for a pre-sentence report to be brought out, and released her on court bail.
