Mitsubishi Mirage to Be Sold as Space Star in Europe

by SpeedLux

One of the greatest Japanese car makers of all time, Mitsubishi, is having a tough time surviving in the United States with only 50,000 cars being sold annually.

The company has decided to take a chance and hence planning to make a reasonably priced subcompact car available in US known as Mirage. The car will be produced in Asia and same car is expected to be sold in Europe also but under another name which is Space Star, as announced recently by the company.

The Space Star will have two petrol engine variants, a small 1.0 liter engine with output capacity of just 71 hp and another would be 1.2 liter engine with capacity of 80 hp. Both the models may give a same mileage of around 20 kmpl on the combined cycle and the CO2 emission will be below 100 grams.

The weight of the base model may be just 845 kilograms and a boot capacity of just 235 liters. The company has high hopes in both the markets and is expecting it to do some miracle in US markets atleast.
