Range Rover TDV8 not to be made available in USA

by Alex

Features of the 2011 Range rover has finally been given out though the official channels last month. The SUV in its 2011 model would have a 4.4 liter engine named LR-TDV8. The engine would be able to produce 313 HP and 700 Nm torque. For transmission the engine is mated to an eight speed auto gearbox. The engine has a fuel efficiency of 30.1 mpg.

However this engine would not be fitted on the cars being sold at the US market. This is due to existing emission laws that are applicable in the US which necessitates adherence to Euro6 standards. This rule is not yet valid in Europe so the engine can be fitted in cars sold in Europe. It is only the TDV8 engine that adheres to euro5 standards. Land Rover therefore would be able to take advantage of these less strict rules and have their engines adjusted accordingly.

Land rover has promised the launch of next generation TDV8 in 2014.
