SolarCity offers Airbnb hosts $1,000 incentive toward panels

Airbnb hosts who have been considering solar panels for their houses just got a $1,000 incentive to make the green move.

The home-sharing tech business revealed Tuesday that it has formed a collaboration with SolarCity that provides money back on the installation of a solar-energy collection system. The $1,000 deal is great through March 31, 2017, and drops to $750 for remaining days of the calendar year.

Airbnb’s SolarCity deal likewise reaches present SolarCity customers who decide to end up being Airbnb hosts. They’ll get a $100 Airbnb travel card for entering into the home- and apartment-rental giant.

Airbnb presently has over 2 million listings in dozens of countries. SolarCity currently has 300,000 clients in 19 states, and the $1,000 rebate is offered just to Airbnb hosts in those places.

SolarCity stock increased by 2.6% to $20.16 on the news, and Tesla increased by 2.5% to $198.84.
