The Frankfort-Schuyler School District reached out to families with the news that a 12-year-old girl from Frankfort died in a car crash in Florida on Thursday.

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) said Karley Guyer was an occupant in an SUV that was parked on the side of a highway in Gadsden County Florida.

As the SUV driver attempted to drive back onto the interstate around 10:20 p.m., the vehicle was struck by a tractor-trailer.

The Tallahassee Democrat reports showed there were three other children, all from Frankfort, in the SUV at the time of the car accident, together with the 54-year-old driver. They all suffered small injuries but the tractor-trailer driver was not injured.
