by SpeedLux

Two people were killed after a crash on early Sunday in a residential area south of the Oxnard Airport, in Ventura County, California.

A man, who was an occupant of the 2020 Honda Civic, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman who was also in the car was taken to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

The crash took place when the Civic was headed west on Fifth Street in the outside lane and it clipped a 2022 Hyundai Sonata going in the same direction in the interior lane.

The Civic spun and rolled over before coming to rest in the eastbound lanes of the street going the opposite direction.

The names of the deceased individuals were withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The driver and the only occupant of the Sonata was at the scene.
