2 dead after car crash into utility pole in Claverack, New York

Two men were killed in a vehicle crash on Preusser Road in Claverack on Sunday.

According to New York State Police, the investigation into the crash started near 1 a.m., when they responded to the scene on Preusser Road. It was reported that a car had veered off the roadway and struck a utility pole. After that, the car was engulfed.

They say they discovered a dead body still in the car—Kyle Germann, 25, of New York City.

Police found Robert G. Bailey, 32, of Stockport outside of the car and severely injured. He was flown to Albany Medical Center Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Philmont and Claverack Fire Departments also helped in resolving the incident.
