Two people were killed after a car crash on Interstate 64 in Louisa County, Virginia on Tuesday night.

Officials were notified just before 11 p.m. of the crash at mile marker 133.

A Honda SUV was heading east when it struck a 1990 GMC Dump truck.

The people inside the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene.

The 51-year-old dump truck driver was admitted to the hospital with non-life threatening injury.

Eastbound I-64 was closed at mile 133 after the crash.

Officials were of the view that an extended closure was likely.
