To mark its 30th anniversary Quattro announced it would come out with a new concept car. The car would have a 2.5 liter engine with five cylinders same as that fitted on the TT RS. The engine develops 408 hp and 480 Newton meter or 354.03 lb ft of torque on the concept model. On the TT RS the same engine develops 340 hp.
The Quattro concept has an acceleration factor of 3.9 seconds for 0 to 100 kmph or 62 mph. the top speed of the car is electronically limited to 250 kmph which is 155 mph. with all this speed and power of 408 hp the car has the fuel consumption rate of 8.5 liter per 100 km or just 27.67 US mpg.
The weight of the concept model is just 1,300 kg that is 2,866.01 lb. is it therefore about 200 kg which is 440.92 lb lighter than the Audi TT RS which is the other car of comparable size. The major part of the body has been made off aluminium and the car also uses the quarto permanent all wheel drive system which is the latest technology in the transmission system today. There are also other innovative features like the crown-gear center differential. Using this technology the car can vary the distribution of power between the front and rear axle over a broad range.
The design of the concept has been borrowed to some extent from the Audi A5 as well as the RS5 coupe. The wheel base has been shortened by 150 mm or 5.91 inch compared to the RS 5. The exterior dimension of the Quattro concept is (length x width x height) of 4.28 m (14.04 ft) x 1.86 m (6.10 ft) x 1.33 m (4.36 ft) and wheelbase of 2.60 m (8.53 ft). With these dimensions the Quattro concept fist into the sports car segment. The interior of the car is also very neat. It has satin black color for the carbon elements and the leather areas have rally beige. Completely digital is the instrument cluster.
