The Dodge is trying to keep up with the constant improvement drive, which has seemingly become kind of a routine between the two giants i.e. Chevrolet and Ford with their muscle car war manufacturing i.e. the new Camaro and Mustang respectively.
Quite a fiery sensation created by the Challenger at the 2008 Chicago Auto Show however, later on turned out to be effervesced. The Dodge seems to be now conjuring up to make its consumers to remember that the Dodge too has lined-up a muscle car. The Challenger seems to be offering a promising long list of improvements for the 2011 model year. The most prominent improvements include an even more powerful engine.
Challenger’s interiors will undergo major updates whereas the exterior look is expected to remain the same excluding the lower opening, which is flipped upside down and made taller. The interiors updates include a new Garmin navigation system and an improvised dashboard. The quality of the materials to be used inside the car are also expected to be several notches higher.
The new Dodge Challanger’s SE versions will have a Pentastar V6 engine with an output between 290 and 300 HP subject to addition of direct injection system. However, there is not change in engine for the RT version. The SRT8 version will notice the biggest change. SRT8 would have a new 6.4-liter Hemi engine with power levels at 480 HP and torque levels at 460 lb-ft. The 6.4-liter Hemi engine features cylinder deactivation and hence better gas mileage.
