Not being satisfied with being one of the stars of the 2011 automotive world and the talk of everybody, the 991 generation of the Porsche 911 has gone even further.
The unveiling took place in Frankfurt, coming up with some fresh performance upgrades along with other more than interesting details.
Due to the fact that the newest 2012 Porsche 911 really is the finest ever made in history, people have been expecting for the Convertible and the Turbo versions.
The turbo version will be keeping us waiting for a little longer, but the new convertible has already been unveiled/
The Porsche doesn’t have a fashionable folding metal roof, but it comes with the traditional soft top, which isn’t necessarely a good idea, taking into consideration ditching of the multi-layered fabric system in previous generations.
On the other hand, the car’s new roof is simpler, uses newer, more exotic materials and, as a result, is “considerably lighter” and faster to deploy.
As for the engine, the car offers up the new flat-six cylinder engines which can squeeze 350 horsepower out of 3.4 liters (Carrera) or up to 400 horsepower from 3.8 liters (Carrera S) and it offers up similar performance to the coupe, at least in a straight line.
Nothing has been mentioned about the track performance, in spite of all the other points this car has gathered. But I suppose this will be available as soon as the drop top races its Coupe brethren on the Nurburgring.
