Dunlop Motorsport has announced it will develop tires for a revolutionary new car, the 2013 GreenGT H2, which holds the potential to reshape the future of motorsport power. The performance tire manufacturer will be working closely with the team to drive tire technology forward and help provide the grip that will maximize the ‘future power’ of motorsport.
The launch of the GreenGT H2, which will compete in the 2013 Le Mans 24 Hours, is the world’s first hydrogen fuel cell powered race car, featuring electric powertrain technology.
The 2013 Green GT H2 is powered by a hydrogen fuel cell, the electric-motor-driven GreenGT H2 will be capable of reaching speeds of up to 300 km/h (186 mph) and will have a run time of 40 minutes per tank of hydrogen. Its emissions will be nothing more than air and water vapor, leading many to speculate that the car represents the future of motorsports.
Dual electric motors, rated at a combined 537 horsepower and 2,950 pound-feet of torque, will utilize torque vectoring for maximum traction at the rear wheels.
Well Dunlop Motorsport is working with GreenGT engineers to develop a tire capable of handling the car’s extra weight and withstanding its impressive torque output. Such a tire must have a higher load capacity and increased longitudinal stiffness, but will also need to have a low rolling resistance for added range.
It seems pretty Insane for some standard Care Tires Devloper to manufacture and design equipments solely for some company going to the racing tracks with an aim of reshaping the future of Motorsports, but Dunlop Motorsports expressess that it’s their highest invetsment in the future of Racing Cars, by manufacturing cars tyres for some hybrid metal pieces!
