One of the most happening and successful auto shows of the industry, Techno Classica Essen 2013, just started in Essen. Its popularity can be judged from the fact that in 2011, the show received around 1,200 exhibitors from more than 40 different nations and also there were more than 181,000 visitors in the show.

One car that grabbed lot of attention is Porsche 911 GT1 which is built as per requirements of Porsche so that it can participate in GT1 racing class as part of homologation. 25 such units have been produced. The car has taken parts from the 993 and 962 series of the 911 including the water cooled engine. The detuned flat six had a total power of 537 hp from the 592 hp of the race version. The car can accelerate to 100 kmph in just 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 308 kmph.
