Coming 2013, January 13th, and the whole world will witness the American Beauty, the Chevrolet Corvette, in a new attire, General Motors has announced that the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette (C7) will be making its public debut at of the largest Motorshow of the world in 2013, The Detroit Motor Show.
Along with latest seventh Generation Corvette, GM will also show its all-new emblem, that according to the company, “reflects the character of the next Corvette”. Quoting General Motors vice president of global design, Ed Welburn, he says, “The all-new, seventh-generation Corvette deserved an all-new emblem. The new Crossed Flags design reflects the character of the next Corvette. The flags are much more modern, more technical, and more detailed than before – underscoring the comprehensive redesign of the entire car”
If you take look at the recent reports, the C7 is a complete new model, except for its removable roof panel’s rear latch and the cabin air filter, expect many chnages inside the cabin, while on the outside it will keep upto certain traditional elements, like short rear deck and log hood, this new C7 will also feature round taillights and is expected to be powered by a V8 engine with direct-injection.
The production of the Corvette C7 will commence in August or September next year, while the Bowling Green, Kentucky factory where they currently make the C6 is expected to be shutting it down in February next year.
