The next generation A4 luxury sedan from the German automotive marquee, Audi, has been caught on camera as it was undergoing the final phase of factory testing. This time, the car has been spotted while undergoing tests in the European continent.
Judging by the look of the car in the spy images, it is safe to say that the 2016 model year A4 sedan from Audi will have a relatively bigger size when compared to the outgoing model. Nonetheless, it should be less heavy when compared to the predecessor. The car will reportedly be lighter by 100 kg than its outgoing counterpart. The luxury German automaker has successfully managed to achieve this by making good use of the new MLB Evo chassis. While being lighter than its predecessor, this next generation Audi A4 features a more spacious interior, combined with a more refined visual styling. In addition, if you pay close attention to the spy images here, you may even be able to note that the car now features a free-standing display.
Now, what about the engine? Well, a media from Spain had somehow managed to garner details about the engine lineups for the A4 about one month earlier. According to the media in question, for a start, customers can choose a 1.4L TFSI engine that delivers 125 HP of power. Alternatively, they can also go for a 3.0L TFSI engine delivering 272 HP of total power output. Yet, for those who prefer a diesel engine, they can benefit from either a 1.6L TDI engine delivering 120 HP of power or a 3.0L TDI engine delivering 260 HP of power, with the latter being at the top of the range. A plug-in hybrid variant will be available as well, featuring a 2.0L TDI e-Tron engine delivering 190 HP, combined with a couple of electric motors delivering 136 HP.
The 2016 Audi A4 will most likely make its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September this year. However, chances are, Audi will be unveiling it online in August approximately.
